BCCI AGM 2026: September 18 Meeting to Decide IPL Governing Council Members and ICC Representation
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold its 95th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at its headquarters in Mumbai on September 18, 2026, with several important administrative decisions on the agenda.

The meeting, scheduled to begin at 11:30 AM IST, is expected to be particularly significant for the future administration of the Indian Premier League (IPL), as the BCCI will elect two General Body representatives to the IPL Governing Council and induct one representative from the Indian Cricketers' Association.
The BCCI's representation at the International Cricket Council (ICC) is also expected to feature prominently during the meeting.
BCCI AGM 2026 Set for September 18 in Mumbai
The BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia's office has informed member associations that the 95th AGM will take place at the board's headquarters in Mumbai.
The meeting will review the board's activities and finances from the previous financial year while also taking several important decisions regarding its cricket committees, governance structure and international representation.
The AGM will include the confirmation of the minutes from the 94th AGM, held on September 28, 2025, as well as the Secretary's Report for the 2025-26 season.
Among the most closely watched items will be the election of representatives to the IPL Governing Council.
IPL Governing Council Elections Among Key Agenda Items
Two representatives from the BCCI General Body will be elected and inducted into the IPL Governing Council.
The election process is already moving towards its September deadline. Member associations have been asked to submit applications for their representatives by August 31.
The draft electoral roll is scheduled to be released on September 1, while nominations will be accepted on September 9 and 10 between 11 AM and 4 PM.
The final list of contesting candidates is expected on September 12, with the election and announcement of results scheduled for September 18.
In addition to the two General Body representatives, the AGM will also induct one representative of the Indian Cricketers' Association into the IPL Governing Council.
These appointments could have an important role in the administration and future policy direction of the world's most prominent franchise cricket league.
India's ICC Representation Also on the Agenda
Another major issue expected to attract attention is the appointment of the BCCI's representative or representatives to the International Cricket Council (ICC) or another similar international organisation.

The BCCI will also consider reports and recommendations from its Apex Council, CEO, Governing Council, Ombudsman and Ethics Officer before deciding on relevant policy directions.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands Could Receive Associate Membership
The AGM could also mark an important step for cricket development in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The BCCI is expected to consider a proposal to grant associate membership to the Cricket Association of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The proposal had previously been discussed by the BCCI's Apex Council and could now be formally considered by the General Body.
If approved, the move would bring cricket administration in the Union Territory into the BCCI's formal structure.
Associate membership would not provide voting rights, but it could give cricket in the islands a clearer pathway towards participation in BCCI domestic competitions and development programmes.
The move would also expand the formal reach of Indian cricket beyond the board's existing membership structure.
BCCI to Review Finances and Annual Budget
Financial matters will form another important part of the September AGM.
Members will consider the audited BCCI accounts for the 2025-26 financial year, along with the Treasurer's Report.
The board will also adopt its annual budget for FY 2026-27 and appoint auditors for the new financial year, including decisions regarding their remuneration.
The AGM will additionally consider the Secretary's Report and reports from various BCCI committees.
Junior Cricket Committee Appointments
The meeting is also expected to confirm appointments to the Junior Cricket Committee.
The BCCI has invited applications for five positions, with submissions closing on September 5. Candidates will subsequently go through a screening and shortlisting process before personal interviews.
The final appointments are expected to be addressed as part of the board's wider committee restructuring.
The AGM agenda also includes the appointment of standing committees, cricket committees and the umpire committee.
